How We Protect Your Data

Files you process with the browser tools stay on your device. Images, PDFs, audio and documents are processed in your browser and are never uploaded to Presend. Two exceptions come from the browser itself: Speech to Text uses your browser's built-in speech recognition, which in Chrome and Edge sends the audio to Google's or Microsoft's servers; and in Text to Speech, voices marked "online" in the voice list send your text to Google or Microsoft (your device's own voices and the AI voice keep it on your device).

What the website loads from other domains. The site itself sets no cookies, and loads no advertising or cross-site trackers. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless page-view counter. Some tools download open-source libraries or models from public CDNs (such as jsDelivr) when you open them; pages with the feedback form or the waitlist form load Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam; and the Password Breach Checker sends the first 5 characters of your password's SHA-1 hash, never the password, to Have I Been Pwned. The IP Geolocation map loads its tiles from OpenStreetMap, and Link Preview shows the preview image and favicon directly from the site you analyse. These services see your IP address, as with any web request.

What the API receives. API requests are processed on Cloudflare's servers. What you send (an email address, a URL, a package name...) is used only to answer the request and is not stored. Some checks forward it to the service they rely on, for example Cloudflare DNS, OSV.dev, the npm registry, crt.sh, RDAP, the EU VIES service, abuse.ch, Have I Been Pwned (a 5-character hash prefix), or the website you ask us to analyse.

What we store. Rate limiting keeps your IP address for 2 minutes. We count page views per tool and per day, and API calls per day, endpoint and client type (the first word of the User-Agent, for example "python-requests", or "web:check" and "web:install-check" for calls made by our /check and /install-check pages); these counts contain no IP address. Messages you send through the feedback form are stored so that we can read them. If you join the Presend for teams waitlist, we store your email address and your answers, without your IP address, only to write to you when there is something to try; we never share them, we delete the whole list by 1 December 2026 if we do not build the offer, and you can ask to be removed at any time at presendapp@gmail.com. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, may keep its own logs under its own policy.

Presend Browser Extension

The Presend browser extension ("Clean with Presend") lets you right-click any image on a web page to remove hidden EXIF/GPS metadata and download a cleaned copy.

What it does: when you choose "Clean with Presend" from the right-click menu, the extension fetches the image you selected, processes it locally using your browser's own canvas rendering (which strips all embedded metadata by design), and saves the cleaned file to your Downloads folder.

What it does not do: the extension does not send your image, or any part of it, to Presend's servers or to any third party. It does not track which pages you visit, does not collect analytics, and does not store any data beyond the current browser session. The image never leaves your device.

Why it requests broad host permissions: the extension needs permission to read images on any site so the right-click option works everywhere you might encounter a photo you want to clean — for example on social media, webmail, or messaging apps. This permission is used only to fetch the specific image you right-clicked; the extension does not read or monitor page content otherwise.
