    What metadata is hidden in PDFs?

    PDFs can store the author's name, title, subject, keywords, creator software, producer software, creation date, and modification date. Some also contain XMP metadata.

    Is it safe to use?

    Yes. The PDF is processed entirely in your browser using the pdf-lib library. Your file never leaves your device.

    Does it work on encrypted or password-protected PDFs?

    No. If a PDF is encrypted, the tool cannot open it. You would need to decrypt it first using the original password.

    Will the PDF look different after cleaning?

    No. Only the document information dictionary is modified. The visual content, fonts, images, and layout remain exactly the same.

    What about XMP metadata?

    This tool clears the standard document info dictionary. Some PDFs also contain an XMP metadata stream; while the tool attempts to minimize it, complete XMP removal is not guaranteed in every case.
